Who we are…
Sustainability.Training is a spin-off of Innovativkonzept GmbH, a Germany based consultancy company that provides services related to environmental and social risk management for investment projects, financial institutions, and banking sectors in developing countries based on the IFC Performance Standards.
Where do we come from…
We have carried out countless E&S due diligence exercises of investment projects, worked as lenders E&S advisor, worked for banks and implemented numerous Environmental and Social Risk Management Systems together with our financial institution clients.
How we do it…
With this track record in hand we now can credibly offer relevant E-Learning courses to financial institutions all under the headline “E-Learning for Sustainable Banking”. Our solutions are based on the most modern E-Learning software and state of the art Learning Management Systems (LMS).

We strongly believe that financial institutions worldwide can make a huge difference to society and the environment. And this without losing one single client. On the contrary, giving environmental and social considerations the same importance as financial, legal or technical aspects, can make investments more sustainable and lucrative.

Get to know the team
Jörg Janischewski
CEO
Jörg Janischewski has been employed by the German Development Financing Institution DEG as an E&S expert. He has got an inside view of the financing sector thereby better understanding the necessary balance between economical, ecological and social considerations. At DEG he was in charge of E&S due diligence for large scale investment projects. 12 years ago, he started Innovativkonzept Ltd (which now has been turned into GmbH) and together with his team assisted many FI in setting up a proper ESMS based on IFC PS, supported national financial sector initiatives and worked as lenders E&S advisor on investment projects.
Petra Dehmel
CTO
Petra Dehmel has being trained in social pedagogics. She has worked for educational organisations and in the field of online marketing. She has worked for Innovativkonzept GmbH. over the past 5 years where she conceptionalised case studies, developed training material and monitored numerous investment projects from an E&S point of view. Since 2016 she is working at the interface between E-Learning and E&S related content development.
Melissa Makwarimba
CONSULTANT
Melissa has over 16 years’ experience working with the private sector, policy makers and regulators to respond to a variety of sustainability challenges and build more sustainable enterprises and markets. The majority of Melissa’s clients operate in the finance, infrastructure, extractives and industrial sectors in emerging market economies. A key focus area is advising financial sector actors on environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks at an investment level but also regulators on emerging systemic risks to financial markets.
