About this E-learning platform

Our team of experts are not only environmental and social experts but also banking specialist with a deep understanding of the necessary balance between economical, ecological and social considerations. As a rule of thumb, our recommendations focus on what is realistically feasible and also incorporate soft factors of how to bring about change. Our track record contains the “who-is-who” in development financing and we are in a position to cover all relevant investment sectors. Our team has not only visited developing countries but also lived there. The way in which the content of the E-learning courses is conceived and designed is unique.

Our courses primarily focus on financial institutions and investment projects in transition and developing countries. This clearly includes the typical barriers to a more sustainable finance that one tends to find in these countries. Some more general courses may also fit bankers from developed countries.

As a matter of fact this was simple as obvious. The experts of Innovativkonzept are very frequently carrying out life trainings for financial institutions related to sustainable finance and the IFC Performance Standards. In discussions with our trainees we very clearly could identify most important gaps as well as most relevant issues and how they should be dealt with.

Obviously, learning in a classroom is even more personal and interactive, but there are a lot of benefits to use E-learning. Due to its high degree of convenience and flexibility, the resources are available from anywhere and at any time. There is no hard and fast rule. Moreover, the courses can be offered at much lower cost per course delivered. Finally, good trainers are hard to find, if at all you find one. As a matter of fact, at Innovativkonzept we felt such a strong feedback for our life trainings that we could not cater to all requests and therefore opted to develop E-learnings instead.

Our E-learning courses focus on typical loopholes and practical examples – the content is connected to the everyday work of the user and to recurrent challenges. The user meets different characters in our courses each of which with a very specific job role. The characters interact with each other, discuss problems and jointly develop suitable solutions. In specific scenarios the user/trainee is part of this team, making decisions and get feedback. Therefore it’s not just scrolling through the content but solving challenges (unrated) and learn that way.

The idea of offering our know-how through E-learnings came up through two country wide financial sector initiative (Kenya and Sri Lanka). In the framework of these initiatives more than 25.000 bankers have undergone the E-learning courses successfully and the number is still rising as both platforms are up and running. Lessons learnt from these platforms have gone into the development of the sustainability.training platform.

The existing E-learning platforms in Kenya and Sri Lanka have been co-financed by the European Development Financing Institutions KfW-DEG (Germany), FMO (the Netherlands), Proparco (France) and OeEB (Austria) and were run by local bankers associations. Sustainability.Training is a spin-off of these two technical assistance projects. Our technical partner is Farwell Innovations Ltd. (E-learning platform), Open edX (Learning Management System) and Digital Ocean (server hosted in Germany). The Sustainability.Training platform is promoted by a network of highly specialised sustainable banking experts working for Innovativkonzept GmbH, Germany.

Of course you can. You would just need to bear in mind that the original target group of the courses are bankers (good knowledge on banking and financials and limited background on E&S issues).

Generally no. However, if you provide us with a good explanation why you would want to use our content in writing upfront, we may consider your request.

Yes, this is possible. Kindly provide us with a short and informal description of the training campaign and request full preview of courses.

Financial institutions customer will receive access to the “backend” of our Learning Management System. Here you can track the progress of your colleagues and generate statistical reports.

Let’s say you want your staff (6 people) trained on 4 different courses you have pre-selected. Purchasing access to modules: 6x4x50=1.200 €, Flatrate XS for 10 users and ten modules=1.500€. While purchasing modules is cheaper, a flatrate would give access to all our modules and to 10 people. This would make sense in case one of your colleagues from other departments (e.g. investment managers) would like to go through the courses as well.

For larger customers we will offer our assistance free of cost or at a nominal cost. Kindly get in touch should you require this assistance or learn from how this aspect was solved in other financial institutions.
